We are a progressive commercial law firm, committed to providing a superior service and excellent client care.

We generally interview and hire in March, to start work in September of that year. Abrahams Dresden recruits two trainees each year.

Trainees are given all-round training and are regularly monitored by the Training Partner to assess their progress and development.

We look for drive and commitment, independence, creative thinking, personal achievement and personality, as well as a sound academic background.

First year trainees will receive a yearly salary of £30,000 and second year trainees will receive £32,000 per year.

Training Contract Programme

Each trainee spends six months in each of the property and litigation departments and 12 months in the healthcare department.

Trainees in the healthcare department will expect to get involved in acquisitions and disposals, mainly of dental practices from an early stage. There will be a goodly amount of due diligence paperwork, drafting from templates and client contact. Trainees will also expect to deal with banking documentation, acting just for the bank on lending propositions or for the bank in parallel with the purchaser client.

In the property department, trainees will expect to deal with landlord and tenant documents, a small amount of residential conveyancing and banking documentation.

Within the litigation department, trainees will enjoy a very broad cross-section of litigation, from debt collection to matrimonial matters to complex commercial litigation.

Trainees are given an all-round training and are regularly monitored by the training partner to assess their progress and development.

We look for drive and commitment, independence, creative thinking, personal achievement and personality, as well as a sound academic background.

While every member of the firm is expected to work hard, we have a 'work to live' culture. We encourage trainees to stay on with us when their training contract finishes, if we have a suitable vacancy in a department which interests them.

Our trainees must have completed a law degree or the CPE/GDL and the Legal Practice Course.

We also favour applicants that have at least one year's legal work experience as a paralegal.

We are committed to providing a superior service and excellent client care. It's also a fun place to work. If you are interested in a slightly less formal experience than you might have expected, do please apply to us for a role.

What our trainees say

Amy McFarland: “Probably the best thing that I can say about the firm is that I enjoy each day as it comes and I never get that Monday morning feeling. On a more practical note, I would say that I enjoy far more client contact than I would have expected. Also, I enjoy and benefit from working closely with the senior fee earner with whom I am working on any particular job.”

Jasmine Sudworth “As a trainee at Abrahams Dresden, I have had the opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of work, from attending client meetings, to advising on redundancy payments, to applying for civil restraint orders. This month I have also spent a whole week in the central London family court assisting in a multi-million pound divorce!”
